Overview
Every suite across the Silversea fleet includes butler service, ocean views, and the kind of space rarely found at sea. From the moment you step aboard, your butler will unpack your luggage, keep your bar stocked to your preferences, and handle everything from dinner reservations to shoe shining. Suites are designed for comfort rather than compromise, with luxury linens, marble bathrooms, and a pillow menu as standard.

Vista & Veranda Suites
The Vista Suite offers generous space and large picture windows, while the Veranda Suite adds a private teak balcony – the choice for most guests, and for good reason. Both include the full butler service, premium amenities, and everything you need for a comfortable voyage. If waking up and stepping straight outside with a morning coffee matters to you, the Veranda is worth the upgrade.

Silver & Medallion Suites
A meaningful step up in space and comfort. Silver Suites offer separate living and sleeping areas, while Medallion Suites add a larger balcony and enhanced amenities. Both suit guests who value room to spread out, entertain, or simply enjoy a quieter evening in. Additional perks often include premium dining reservations and priority embarkation.

Royal, Grand & Owner's Suites
Silversea’s flagship accommodation. These suites offer multiple rooms, expansive verandas, whirlpool baths, and dedicated concierge service. The Owner’s Suite is the largest and most lavish – think private apartment rather than cruise cabin. Guests in these suites often receive complimentary laundry, exclusive dining invitations, and the best positions on the ship.

Expedition Suites
Expedition ships maintain the same suite standards but are designed with adventure in mind. You’ll find the same butler service, quality linens, and refined finishes – but with practical touches like gear storage and easy access to the mudroom. Comfort remains a priority; you’re just swapping the balcony sundowner for binoculars and a parka.

Amenities & Facilities
All suites include butler service, luxury toiletries, in-suite bar, flat-screen entertainment, and 24-hour room service. Interconnecting suites are available for families or groups needing extra space. Specific layouts and categories vary by ship – our Voyage Consultants can advise on the best options for your chosen itinerary.

Dining overview
Silversea offers multiple complimentary restaurants spanning Italian, French, Asian, and international cuisines. Open seating means no fixed dining times or table assignments, and there are no surcharges at any venue. Wine, champagne, and premium spirits are included throughout the day, and dietary requirements are handled with genuine care.

S.A.L.T. Programme
S.A.L.T. (Sea and Land Taste) is Silversea’s destination-focused culinary programme, shaping menus around the regions you’re visiting. Expect regional dishes, local ingredients, and guest chefs from ports of call. Beyond the restaurant, S.A.L.T. extends into cooking classes, market tours, and shoreside food experiences – a genuine point of difference from other luxury lines.

La Dame
Silversea’s most refined dining experience, La Dame is an intimate French restaurant found on select ships. The menu showcases classic technique with modern presentation – think dishes like duck à l’orange, bouillabaisse, and perfectly executed soufflés. Reservations are recommended, and while there’s no surcharge, it feels like a special occasion. One of the best fine dining venues at sea.

La Terrazza
Available across most of the fleet, La Terrazza is Silversea’s Italian restaurant and a guest favourite. Pasta is made fresh daily, and the menu draws on regional traditions from across Italy. By day it operates as a relaxed buffet with indoor and outdoor seating; by evening it transforms into an à la carte restaurant. Book for dinner – it fills up.

Kaiseki
Silversea’s Japanese venue offers fresh sushi, sashimi, and dishes inspired by the kaiseki tradition of seasonal, balanced courses. Found on the Muse-class ships, it’s an elegant space with a calm atmosphere and meticulous presentation. A quieter alternative for guests who want something lighter or prefer to escape the busier restaurants.

The Grill (Hot Rocks)
A Silversea signature. By day, The Grill serves poolside lunches – burgers, salads, fresh seafood. By night, it becomes Hot Rocks: guests cook premium meats and fish at the table on heated volcanic stones. It’s interactive, fun, and surprisingly good. The outdoor setting makes it popular on warm-weather itineraries.

Other dining venues
Other dining options include Atlantide (surf and turf, Muse-class ships), Silver Note (live jazz and tapas), Spaccanapoli (Neapolitan pizza), Indochine (pan-Asian), and The Restaurant – the main dining room offering international menus nightly. In-suite dining is available around the clock, served course-by-course by your butler on request.

Amenities
Despite their intimate size, Silversea ships offer a full complement of luxury amenities. Lounges, pools, fitness centres, and spas provide space for relaxation, while enrichment programmes, libraries, and boutiques add depth to the onboard experience. Expedition vessels feature mudrooms, Zodiac fleets, and equipment for kayaking, hiking, and more.

Spa & Fitness
Every Silversea ship offers a well-equipped spa and fitness centre. Gyms feature Technogym equipment, free weights, and stretching areas, with classes available on most voyages, including yoga and Pilates. The spa provides a full menu of massages, facials, and body treatments, plus sauna and steam facilities. It’s a calm space to retreat to between ports – or after an early expedition landing.

The Otium Concept
Found on the newer Nova-class ships, Otium takes wellness further. Inspired by the ancient Roman philosophy of restorative leisure, it blends spa treatments with thermal bathing rituals, relaxation pools, and a slower pace of living. Think less transactional spa visit, more holistic retreat. The concept extends beyond the spa into the ship’s design – more outdoor space, more natural light, more room to simply be.

By day
Days at sea are yours to fill as you please. Enrichment lectures cover everything from destination history to wildlife and photography. Libraries offer a quiet corner with well-stocked shelves. The pool deck is never crowded. On expedition ships, the focus shifts to briefings, citizen science programmes, and preparing for the next landing. Silversea doesn’t fill your day with forced fun – the space and freedom are the point.

When night falls
Evenings are refined but relaxed. The main show lounge hosts live performances, guest musicians, and occasional production shows. Smaller lounges offer piano bars, jazz at Silver Note, and somewhere quiet for a nightcap. Connoisseur’s Corner suits those who prefer a fine cognac and a cigar. There’s no pressure to attend anything – many guests are happiest with dinner, a drink, and early to bed before the next port.

Families
Silversea primarily caters to adults but welcomes families. Selected itineraries are family-friendly, and suites with interconnecting options make group travel comfortable. Enrichment programmes, wildlife spotting, and hands-on exploration make Silversea expedition cruises particularly appealing for families with older children.

FAQs
Planning your perfect voyage should be seamless. We’ve compiled the most common questions we’re asked about Silversea Cruises to give you complete peace of mind.
Almost everything! Your suite, butler service, all onboard dining (including speciality restaurants), drinks throughout the day – wine, champagne, spirits, the lot. Gratuities and WiFi are covered too. Expedition fares often include flights, hotels, and transfers, depending on the itinerary. There’s very little you’ll need to pay extra for once you’re onboard. Furthermore, if you choose Silversea’s All-Inclusive Plus fare, you’ll receive complimentary credit for shore excursions.
Silversea isn’t really designed with young children in mind – there are no kids’ clubs or organised programmes. That said, families with older children and teenagers do sail, particularly on expedition itineraries where wildlife and adventure keep everyone engaged. Some suites interconnect, which helps with space. If your kids are curious, well-travelled types who’d rather spot penguins than hit a water slide, it can work well.
Relaxed during the day – smart casual covers most situations. Evenings are a step up: think elegant but not stuffy. Some guests enjoy dressing for dinner, others keep it simple. Formal nights exist on longer voyages but they’re optional, not enforced. Pack versatile pieces, and you’ll be fine.
Silversea doesn’t include shore excursions in its All-Inclusive or Last Minute fares. However, you will receive a shore excursion credit if you book the All-Inclusive Plus fare. Expedition cruises go further – Zodiac landings, guided hikes, and expert-led wildlife experiences are all part of the fare. If you want something more tailored or private, you can add a full menu of premium excursions. But you won’t feel shortchanged sticking with what’s included.
We are long-standing partners of both, so this one comes up a lot. They’re both six-star, all-inclusive resorts, but they suit different people. Regent’s ships are larger and include amenities such as shore excursions and valet laundry service in the price. Silversea runs smaller vessels, has a much stronger expedition programme, and leans into food with the S.A.L.T. concept. Neither is objectively better – it comes down to what you’re after. If you’re stuck between them, we can help you figure it out.
Depends what kind of cruise you’re after. Silver Nova and Silver Ray are the newest – contemporary design, lots of space, the full S.A.L.T. programme. The Muse-class ships (Muse, Moon, Dawn) hit the sweet spot for most guests: refined but not too big. Silver Spirit, Shadow, and Whisper are smaller and suit those who like a more traditional, classic feel. For expedition, it’s Silver Endeavour for polar regions or Silver Origin for the Galápagos. If you’re not sure, that’s what we’re here for.
If this style of cruising appeals to you, yes. The fare covers nearly everything – drinks, dining, gratuities, WiFi, butler service – you’ll rarely need your purse or wallet once you’re onboard. Compare it to other luxury lines once you account for what’s genuinely included, and the gap isn’t as wide as it first looks. You’re paying for smaller ships, higher crew-to-guest ratios, and a level of service that’s hard to find elsewhere.
Yes – Silversea is an excellent option for solo travellers! There’s a single supplement, though reduced rates pop up on select sailings. The smaller ships make it easier to get to know people – you keep seeing the same faces, and conversations happen naturally. Open seating at dinner helps too; no assigned tables, no awkwardness. Expedition voyages are particularly good for solos. Everyone’s sharing Zodiacs, doing the same hikes, swapping stories at the briefings. It’s sociable without trying too hard.
Ocean cruises are what most people picture when they think of luxury cruising. Established ports, long dinners, a day by the pool, maybe a cocktail at sunset. Mediterranean, Caribbean, that sort of thing. Expedition is a different animal. Smaller ships, ice-strengthened hulls, an expert team onboard. You’re going places like Antarctica, the Galápagos, the Arctic – places where wildlife and landscape are the main event, not the port shops. Less formal, more active. Both feel like Silversea, but expedition suits guests who want adventure over routine.
Silversea’s loyalty programme. You’re enrolled automatically after your first voyage and earn points for every day at sea. Benefits increase as you move through the tiers – early access to new itineraries, onboard savings, complimentary laundry, and eventually free cruises for the most frequent guests.
